Philly`s DJ Jazzy Jeff And The Fresh Prince released their triple platinum selling double sophomore album “He`s The DJ, I`m The Rapper” on Jive Records on this day in 1988. This was one of the first rap albums to cross over to younger audiences and young children and bring the playful and comedic side of hip-hop to the mainstream. It contained the smash hit “Parents Just Don`t Understand”, which won the first Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance.
